Iran, China Vow to Expand Mutual Cooperation

Friday, 20 August 2021 (YJC)_ In a meeting, Hossein Amir Abdollahian and China’s special envoy promised to expand the bilateral relations between Iran and China.

Iran, China Vow to Expand Mutual CooperationHossein Amir Abdollahian, the Iranian President Seyed Eberahim Rayeesi's nominee for the post of foreign minister, and China’s special envoy Yue Xiaoyong held a meeting during which they stressed the need for continued expansion of bilateral relations.

During this meeting the Chinese and Iranian representatives explored avenues for the widening of mutual cooperation in different fields.

In his remarks, Amir Abdollahian referred to the relations between Iran and Beijing and said that the two countries can expand bilateral relations within the framework of the strategic cooperation document.

Previously, in a message to his Iranian counterpart Chinese President Xi Jinping called for further consolidation of ties while praising the two countries' strategic partnership over past few years.

The Chinese president also said China and Iran have been helping each other since the onset of the pandemic.
