Tuesday, 17 August 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry spox announced that 50,228 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Tuesday that 50,228 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours.
“50,228 COVID-19 infections and 625 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to more than 4,517,243.”
The spokesperson went on to say that “625 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 99,108.”
“7,424 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 3,786,488 have already gained recovery,” ministry added.
The Iranian Health Ministry also announced that so far 27,380,677 COVID-19 tests have been taken throughout the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 208,935,723 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 4,387,754 and recoveries amounting to 187,301,301.
