The Russian ambassador stated during the meeting that his intention to publish this photo was merely a reminder of Russia's alliance with Britain against the Nazi army during World War II, and that there was no anti-Iranian motive behind the photo.

The Russian ambassador, while emphasizing the strategic relations between Iran and Russia and the deep and friendly relations between the two countries, stated: "I regret that the publication of this photo has caused misunderstanding and resentment among the patriotic people of Iran."

After hearing the ambassador's explanations, the Director General of Eurasia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while emphasizing the friendly relations between Iran and Russia, reminded him that the publication of this photo, even with the stated intention, is not acceptable. He also stated that the necessary attention to the historical, political and cultural requirements of the host country is one of the issues that should be carefully considered by the ambassadors.

It was also emphasized in the meeting that the great nation of Iran has repeatedly proved over the past 42 years that it has carefully and seriously protected the independence it has gained through sacrifices and historical resistance and has maintained its relations with other countries based on national dignity.
