Wednesday, 11 August 2021 (YJC)_ German leaders agreed on Tuesday night to halt free corona vaccination in the country to encourage more people to do that.
According to Deutsche Welle, based on the decision of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and 16 German state leaders, health restrictions will be lifted on Tuesday for people who have been vaccinated or improved in Germany in the coming months. The free Corona labs that the government used to pay for are also coming to an end.
Merkel said after the meeting that Germany should encourage more people to be vaccinated because the increase in the number of cases of Covid 19 disease in Germany can be fully attributed to those who have not yet been vaccinated.
"We are now focusing on those who have not yet been vaccinated as the number of cases increases," Merkel said. It is good that the vaccination rate reaches more than 70% and 80%.
"As we can now offer comprehensive vaccines to all citizens in Germany, we will complete free corona tests for all on October 11," the German chancellor said.
