Thursday, 5 August 2021 (YJC)_ British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday turned down an invitation from Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon to visit Edinburgh.
Sturgeon wrote in a message to Johnson on Monday that she was eager to meet with the focus of the Corona outbreak during her trip to Scotland.
However, Johnson declined the invitation of the Scottish Prime Minister and wrote in a letter that he would subsequently hold multilateral meetings with the Prime Ministers of the various parts of Britain.
The British Prime Minister noted that the London and Scottish authorities are in contact on various issues, and that since the last meeting between them in January last year, officials on both sides have made good progress.
Johnson is scheduled to travel to Scotland, the northernmost part of Britain, for two days starting Wednesday and meet with parliamentary officials.
