Tuesday ,3 August 2021 (YJC)_ The Special Representative of the President of Afghanistan stated that the representatives of the European Union in a meeting with the Afghan negotiating team in Doha expressed their support for the achievements of the country over the past two decades.
Abdul Salam Rahimi, Special Envoy of the President of Afghanistan and member of the negotiating team with the Taliban, met with EU Vice President Enrique Mora and EU Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas Nicholson in Doha.
During the meeting, Rahimi provided details on recent developments and the process of peace talks in Afghanistan.
He also stressed that the Afghan negotiating team is committed to advancing meaningful negotiations aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the country.
The Vice President of the European Union, while supporting the achievements of the Afghan people over the past 20 years, declared European political support for the government and people of Afghanistan.
"The government's negotiating team with the Taliban has proved that it sincerely wants to resolve the country's problem through dialogue," the EU deputy chief said in a statement issued by the Afghan negotiating team.
