Thursday,29 July 2021 (YJC)_ In the past few days, Tunisia has witnessed a wave of expulsions of government officials, including Tunisian Prime Minister Hisham al-Mishishi.
Following the decision of Tunisian President Qais Saeed to oust then-Prime Minister Hisham Mishishi and the suspension of parliament on Sunday, a wave of expulsions erupted in the African country.
Qais Saeed last Sunday suspended the activities of the Tunisian parliament for 30 days, announcing his assumption of power and executive authority, and revoked the immunity of members of parliament.
Since then, 24 government officials have been fired. The Minister of Defense and the interim head of the Ministry of Justice are other dismissed officials.
Observers predict that the dismissal of governors and city councils will take place in the coming days.
It is worth mentioning that Hisham Moshishi announced after his dismissal that he will hand over the post of Prime Minister to the new position appointed by Saeed.
