Saturday,17 July 2021 (YJC) _A rescue operation has been launched in Iran’s southern province of Kerman to find a number of locals reported missing in a flash flood that ripped through a village in Baft county, authorities said after retrieving two corpses.
Governor of Baft, Majid Zand, said on Saturday that five people were reported missing after a flash flood swept through the village of Miandeh on Friday evening, noting that two bodies, a man and a woman, have been found this morning.
The victims had been trapped in their car when the flood pushed the vehicle off the road.
Officials have warned local people to avoid staying near the rivers and ravines as the meteorological data have forecast more rainfall in the region.
