Tehran, YJC. The English translation of Zahra Hosseini’s war memoir 'Da' was introduced in New York.
Paul Sprachman’s translation was introduced in a book launch
party held at the office of the permanent Iranian ambassador to the United
Nations in New York.
The book is published by Mazda. Sprachman has worked on the
translation for three years.
Da is a memoir of Hosseini’s toils during the 33-day siege
on Khorramshahr in the Iraq-Iran war.
"Da” is a Kurdish word meaning "mother”. The book is a
record of the travails of Iranian women during the harsh days of siege.
