Saturday ,10 July 2021 (YJC) _ First Counselor of the Permanent Mission of Iran to the UN said the US unilateral sanctions have impeded developing countries’ efforts toward development.
First Counselor of the Permanent Mission of Iran to the UN Ali Hajilari said the US unilateral sanctions have impeded the independent and developing countries’ efforts toward development.
“Development has been turned into a decorative and hollow slogan due to US unilateral moves,” he said while adding that “Imposing illegal sanctions on developing countries, and the inaction of the international community are among things this country has one in this regard.”
He went on to call for immediate and effective action by the international community to lift illegal sanctions imposed on developing countries and stressed the slogan of development will not be realized under increasing pressure and the unilateral moves of a small number of countries.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian Envoy called for an immediate and united confrontation against unilateral coercive actions and said “Such unilateral moves have undermined the foundations of international cooperation.”
