Wednesday, 30 June 2021 (YJC) _Turkey will continue to work with Russia for peace and political process in Syria, says Turkish FM Cavusoglu after meeting with his Russian counterpart Lavrov.

Turkish FM meets with his Russian counterpartIn a meeting with his Russian counterpart on Wednesday Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlud Cavusoglu said Turkey will continue to work with Russia for peace and political process in Syria.

“We had a detailed exchange of views with my Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov regarding our bilateral relations. There are no serious problems in our bilateral relations,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlud Cavusoglu in a joint press conference with Russian counterpart S. Lavrov, APA reports.

Turkish FM emphasized the importance of expanding the bilateral trade turnover.

He also noted that he had discussed regional issues –Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, and Karabakh with Russian FM: “Our aim is peace and stability to be durable in those regions."

“We closely coordinate our efforts in Karabakh issue,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavushoglu, APA reports.

He noted that Baku and Yerevan also continue the dialogue in order to make headway in this issue.

Touching upon restoration of all transport relations in the region, Sergei Lavrov stressed that they appreciate the activity of the Russia-Turkey joint monitoring center located in Agdam: “I am sure that in general complex stabilization of the situation in the region will serve to advance multifaceted economic cooperation with the participation of countries in the region, including Turkey and Russia.
