Tuesday, 29 June 2021 (YJC) _Iranian Health Ministry Spox announced the second Iranian produced vaccine joins the country’s vaccination campaign.
The Iranian Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour announced on Tuesday that the second domestically-made vaccine joins the country’s vaccination campaign.
“After COV-Iran Barakat was given the permit on June 14, the second locally produced anti-Covid-19 vaccine has obtained the necessary permit to be used in the general vaccination of the Iranian population,” he said.
"PastoCovC" is the name of the new vaccine and is manufactured by the Pasteur Institute of Iran,” Jahanpour said while adding that “So far in Iran, 4,426,904 people have received the first doses of the vaccine while 1,481,010 have been injected with the second doses.”
Iran also unveiled its locally manufactured Russian Sputnik V vaccine on Saturday during a ceremony attended by Iran's health officials.
