Sunday, 13 June 2021 (YJC) _ Head of Iran's FDA announced that three million doses of anti-coronavirus vaccine will be imported into the country this week.

3Mn Covid-19 vaccines to be imported into IranHead of Iran's Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Dr. Mohammad-Reza Shanesaz announced on Sunday that three million doses of anti-coronavirus vaccine will be imported into the country this week.

“The vaccines will be imported into the country through free economic zones as there are restrictions on the way of importing those vaccines using other routes,” he said while announcing that “The process of importing the 3 million doses has begun already.”

Elsewhere in his remarks he announced that this week “several million Iranian-made coronavirus vaccines will enter the market, and necessary injection permits will be issued by the Ministery of Health.”

Shanesaz also said that “Those who have been injected with a foreign-made coronavirus vaccine might be injected with an Iranian-made vaccine for their second dose.”

“Iranian-made vaccines are produced according to the latest WHO standards,” he said.

So far, 4,305,242 Iranians have received the first dose of the Coronavirus vaccine while 827,106 people have been injected with the second dose.
