Friday, 4 June 2021 (YJC) _ Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman said the country is to pay its financial share soon.
During his remarks on Friday Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said the country is to pay its financial share soon.
Iran has always paid its contribution on time, but, due to US sanctions, it failed to pay its last year contribution,” khatibzadeh said while adding that “Iran can pay its contribution to the UN through its account in a Korean bank as a way has recently been opened.”
Finally, he emphasized that It was not Iran’s fault by any means.
In a letter circulated on Wednesday, the U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres said that Iran and the Central African Republic are in arrears on paying their dues to the United Nations’ operating budget and therefore, will lose their voting rights in the 193-member General Assembly.
