Thursday, 3 June 2021 (YJC) _ The Iranian Health Ministry spox announced that number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran surpassed 80,658.
According to the Iranian Health Ministry, 9,657 new COVID-19 infections have been recorded across the country in the past 24 hours.
“9,657 COVID-19 infections due to the disease in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of cases to more than 2,945,100” the spox said.
The spokesperson went on to say that “170 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 80,658.”
“3,924 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 2,508,907 have already gained recovery,” ministry added.
She added that 20,310,621 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out across the country so far.
According to the latest figures, more than 172,525,490 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 3,708,590 and recoveries amounting to 155,184,655.
