Thursday, 3 June 2021 (YJC) _ Iran’s top nuclear negotiator said good progress has been made in Vienna talks, but some key issues need to be agreed upon.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs and top nuclear negotiator in Vienna talks told reporters at the end of the fifth round of talks between Iran and the P4+1 group of countries on revitalizing Iran’s nuclear deal that good progress has been made in Vienna talks, but some key issues need to be agreed upon.
“Some important issues still remain to be hammered out by us and our partners in the 2015 deal before we hey can reach an agreement on a potential revival of the accord,” he said while adding “Now it’s upon US and other parties to make “difficult decisions” for that to happen.”
Moreover, he added “it’s not upon us to make decisions… the signatories to the JCPOA and the United States must take their own difficult decisions and adapt themselves to the positions of the Islamic Republic.”
He also referred to the 10 days on intensive talks that took place in Vienna and said the delegations reached to the conclusion that they needed to return to their capitals for almost a week for some consultations.
He also noted that “The next round of talks could be the final one but nothing can be predicted in diplomatic negotiations by 100 percent."
