Friday, 21 May 2021 (YJC) _ The Iranian Health Ministry spox announced 12,428 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Friday that 12,428 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours.
“12,428 COVID-19 infections and 229 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to more than 2,804,632.”
The spokesperson went on to say that “229 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 77,994.”
“5,081 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 2,290,613 have already gained recovery,” ministry added.
“As many as 2,366,895 have received the first doses of the anti-coronavirus vaccine as of today, while 439,293 have been injected with the second dose of the vaccine,” added the spox.
According to the latest figures, more than 165,912,333 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 3,446,477 and recoveries amounting to 146,619,132.
