Saturday, 08 May 2021_International Al Quds day is marked on the last Friday of Ramadan with Muslims and activists from around the world using the occasion to draw attention to Israeli crimes against the people of Palestine.

Londoners mark international Al Quds dayHowever, this year the organizers decided to do things a little differently.

In the UK, the commemorations are taking place at a time when UK-Palestine relations are at an all-time low after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared his opposition to international criminal court investigation into Israeli war crimes.

However, Johnson's comments did not reflect the sentiments expressed on the streets of London.

Five double-decker buses, two trucks, and over 60 cars are here for Al Quds day, to drive through London and show their support for the Palestinian cause.

Illustrating that despite the UK government's unwavering support for Israel, many Brits from all different backgrounds are still on the side of the oppressed.

The Israeli lobbies have attempted for years to shut down the Quds day commemorations with Conservative London mayoral candidate, Shaun Bailey, campaigning to stop the annual event if he is elected.

Yet what this year's supporters of Palestine have shown, is that the voice of those willing to stand up for Palestinians can not be silenced.
