Sunday, 02 May 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced 18,698 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson, Sima Lari, announced on Sunday that 18,698 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours.
“18,698 COVID-19 infections and 394 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” Lari said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to more than 2,534,855.”
She went on to say that “394 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 72,484.”
“Of the new cases detected over the past 24 hours, 2,711 patients have been admitted to the hospital,” she added.
“5,443 individuals are experiencing critical conditions while 1,988,165 have already gained recovery,” she said while saying “So far more than 950,000 people have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the total vaccine jabs have hit 1,175,054.”
According to the latest figures, more than 152,925,598 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 3,208,694 and recoveries amounting to 130,237,607.
