Tehran, YJC. IRGC Aerospace Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh has said that Iran offered military knowledge against ISIL terrorists in Iraq.

Qasem Soleimani is the commander of the IRGC Quds Corps which provides military knowhow to Iraqi fighters in battle against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Providing comments on Iran’s measures to prepare for a possible attack, Hajizadeh said that Iran is a safe island amid tumult that is going on around its borders from Afghanistan and Pakistan to Iraq.

"The US knows that it will fail in a direct battle with Iran,” he asserted.

Commenting on the recent US-led coalition against ISIL he said "The US and allies are trying to cleanse their not too far past. Previously they used to state that they supported ISIL.”

They intended to reach Baghdad and take control of the central government, he mentioned.

Hajizadeh maintained that the people and Army of Iraq are fully able to fight ISIL terrorists. "If they need help, Iran can offer them help, because only for Iran’s help, ISIL would have seized the Iraqi Kurdistan.”

"Major General Soleimani with 70 troops intercepted the ISIL terrorists.”

If classic armies are to enter the scene, 5 to 6 brigades are sufficient to settle the whole thing, he noted.

The IRGC aerospace commander added that while the north of Iraq is under attack by ISIL, US airstrikes target mostly the south of the country.
