PARIS, Sept 24, 2014 (AFP) - An investigation launched in July against former French president Nicolas Sarkozy for corruption and influence-peddling has been suspended, days after he dramatically announced his political comeback.
The Paris appeals court decided Tuesday to drop the probe and does not have to give a reason, a source close to the inquiry told AFP on Wednesday.
The development offers a respite to Sarkozy, but he still remains mired in several other judicial matters, including for alleged corruption.
