Wednesday, 21 April 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry spox announced 24,886 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson, Sima Lari, announced on Wednesday that 24,886 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours.
“24,886 COVID-19 infections and 388 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” Lari said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to more than 2,311,813.”
She went on to say that “388 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 67,913 and makes one of the highest numbers of fatalities over the past five months.”
“4,991 individuals are experiencing critical conditions while 1,823,958 have already gained recovery,” she said while saying “so far more than 14.739 million tests have been taken across the country to detect cases and 480,646 people have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.”
According to the latest figures, more than 143,833,521 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 3,061,808 and recoveries amounting to 122,129,463.
