Wednesday, 21 April 2021_Iran’s Persepolis have bounced back from a goal down to complete their perfect run in Group E of the 2021 AFC Champions League after edging India’s FC Goa 2-1.
The Indian club got on the score-sheet against the run of play, when Edu Bedia sent the ball home with a bullet-header inside 12 minutes.
Persepolis fought back and leveled the match after 4 minutes, when Mehdi Torabi converted from the spot.
The Red Army then piled up the pressure and took the momentum, when their veteran captain Seyed Jalal Hosseini scored the winner with a powerful header in the 24th minute. Both teams will meet again on Friday as the Iranian club aiming to take a step closer to the round of 16.
