Wednesday, 07 April 2021 (YJC)_ The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said Iran’s %20 enriched uranium stock hits 55kg.
In his remarks on Wednesday, the AEOI Iran’s spokesman, Behrouz Kamalvandi, the country’s %20 enriched uranium stock hits 55kg.
He referred to a law ratified by the Iranian Parliament to create a balance in the JCPOA and added “An annual production of 120kg of 20% enriched uranium was an integral part of that law.”
“thus far 55kg of 20% enriched uranium has been produced. Continuing this way, we can reach the determined aim in less than eight months,” he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks he said “The capacity for enriching uranium to a 20% level has increased compared to the pre-JCPOA era” while adding that “Currently we have 16,000 SWUs capacity for the enrichment and the figure was 12,000 SWUs before the nuclear was inked.”
"Currently, we see the deployment of 2,000 IR2M machines," he noted while pointing to the fact that Iran is using new generations of centrifuges such as IR-6, and that is the reason why the rate of uranium output has increased.
