Suspect in Capitol car attack posted about govt. 'mind control' and 'terrible afflictions' by CIA, FBICapitol police said Green drove into the officers on Friday, hitting a barricade and then allegedly exiting his car and lunging at them with a knife. One officer was killed and another injured in the attack. Green was shot and killed by police.

Less than two hours before he was killed, the suspect posted a number of Instagram stories on an account that appeared to belong him, venting his frustration with the US government and agencies, CNN reported.

“The U.S. Government is the #1 enemy of Black people!" a caption on one video read. In another post on the Instagram account, Green wrote last week that he had suffered “terrible afflictions… presumably by the CIA and FBI, government agencies of the United States of America.”

He also said he was unemployed after leaving his job.

“I have been tried with some of the biggest, unimaginable tests in my life. I am currently now unemployed, after I left my job, partly due to afflictions,” he wrote.

Facebook said in a statement that it removed the suspect’s accounts from Facebook and Instagram and were in contact with law enforcement.

Police said Green had no prior criminal record and that they had yet to determine what motivated him to launch the attack.

Lawmakers in Washington expressed horror at the latest attack, noting that it came less than three months after the January 6 deadly riot on Capitol Hill during congressional certification of President Joe Biden’s election victory.

“The question we have to ask is what is happening in our country, where we have people coming in, trying to use violence and knives and arms into the heart of American democracy, a monument of American democracy?” Rep. Ro Khanna, Democrat of California, said on MSNBC

Rep. Blake Moore, Republican from Utah, said “the news from the Capitol is heartbreaking.”

“Our @CapitolPolice have been through way too much this year, and they continue to sacrifice for our protection. My sincerest condolences to the families of the fallen and injured officers,” Moore wrote in Twitter.
