Thursday, 25 March 2021_Unlike previous years, the Afghan government has paid more attention to this year’s Nowruz by launching several different programs in historic and public sites.

Life goes on amid hopelessness and violence in AfghanistanThere are many cozy and historic gardens in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul where you can spend your holidays or attend cultural events such as the ceremonies marking the new year.

The historic Chehel Sotoon Garden in southern Kabul is one of the destinations where government bodies and private sector launch different programs to welcome the Persian new year.

As officials say, the main goal of launching such programs is to create hope and happiness among locals who still bear the brunt of violence in their country. Attracting people’s attention to their cultural and historic events is also among the motives of holding ceremonies like Nowruz festival.

Locals have welcomed the move, saying such ceremonies pave the way for Afghans to further come together and strengthen their ties in order to reduce the level of harm coming from fragile political and security situation in the country.
