Wednesday, 24 March 2021 (YJC)_ Iran’s permanent representative in Vienna reacts to the recent remarks of the Director General of IAEA on JCPOA and called his position nonconstructive.
Iran’s permanent representative to Vienna-based international organizations, Kazem Gharibabadi reacted to the recent remarks of the Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi and called his position a “nonconstructive” one.
In his recent remarks, Grossi claims Iran must come clean about hidden uranium to revive nuclear deal and said "detailed and technical discussions" are needed to ascertain the location of Iran's undeclared uranium and that this issue is "totally connected" to the future of the deal.
Gharibabadi reacts to his remarks and said “Such consecutive interviews only further undermine the IAEA's credibility with Iran” while adding that “It create serious obstacle ahead of success of any subsequent initiatives, based on interaction and goodwill.”
He went on to say that “JCPOA faces many problems and complexities and there is no need to complicate it with such strange positions.”
“Iran continues to be transparent and cooperative under its ‘safeguards’ obligations. Do not use the claims of more than two decades ago as a cover to justify your deliberate failure to address important pervasive problems such as nuclear situation of the Israeli regime!” Gharibabadi added.
