A Harvard CAPS-Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill on Monday also showed that 33 percent do not believe that vaccines are effective.
"The single most concerning number in this moths poll is that 4 in 10 of those who have not been vaccinated do not want to take the vaccine. This includes 60 percent of Black voters," Harvard CAPS-Harris polling director Mark Penn said.
"Please hear me clearly: At this level of cases with variants spreading, we stand to completely lose the hard-earned ground we have gained," said Rochelle Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on Monday.
Federal health officials said that cases and deaths are back on the rise in the country.
Over 513 thousand people have died so far due to contracting the coronavirus with more than 28 million cases reported.
“I am really worried about more states rolling back the exact public health measures we have recommended to protect people from Covid-19… Seventy thousand cases a day seems good compared to where we were just a few months ago,” Walensky said. “Please hear me clearly: At this level of cases with variants spreading, we stand to completely lose the hard-earned ground we have gained.”
