Monday, 01 February 2021_Ten moderate Republican US senators have proposed a $600 billion relief package to counter President Joe Biden's plan to deal with economic ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The White House signaled Sunday that it is open to new initiatives despite Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package.
"He is open to ideas, wherever they may come. ... What he's uncompromising about is the need to move with speed on a comprehensive approach here," Brian Deese, director of the National Economic Council, told NBC. "A piecemeal approach ... is not a recipe for success."
