Tehran, YJC. The Iranian and Kazakh presidents say they intend to boost economic relations.
The Iranian President Hasssan Rouhani and his Kazakh
counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev met in Astana on Tuesday and in a press
conference that followed they announced that Iran and Kazakhstan are going to increase
their trade volume five times.
Rouhani asserted that his visit made the fourth meeting
between the two presidents in the past year and added that they had discussed
economic cooperation in agriculture, mining, industries, trade, banking, and
customs.
We welcome further cooperation on universities and tourism,
he stated, adding: also, as Iran and Kazakhstan have oil reserves, we discussed
scientific, technical, and investment cooperation.
He said that the reopening of the Kazakhstan-Iran rail road
is a huge change which will boost the two countries’ trade volume.
Nazarbayev in turn maintained that the two had discussed in
about all areas concerned.
Oil, gas, transport, mines, banking, regional issues as well
as international ones were discussed, he added.
