Tehran, YJC. Senior lawmaker says terrorism is a serious threat to the Middle East region.
Member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee
of the Majlis Alaeddin Boroujerdi who was speaking in a meeting with the Danish
Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard on Sunday pointed out the negative impacts of
regional terrorism.
Terrorism is a threat to the security of the region and the
world and coping with it needs strong will by all countries, he said.
The all-inclusive support given to the terrorist groups by
world superpowers and their allies is the main reason why these groups have
grown more powerful, Boroujerdi asserted.
The MP maintained that Iran is a terrorism victim.
The Danish Foreign Minister in turn expressed his country’s
will to improve relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Pointing to the recent NATO meeting in Vienna and its
important in fighting terrorism he said "Due to its influence in the region, Iran
plays an important role in all actions against terrorism.”
