Tuesday, 05 January 2021(YJC)_ A man, brandishing a weapon, has died this morning after he was shot by police on the Downtown Eastside Vancouver.
A 37-year-old man has died after he was shot by police on the Downtown Eastside.
According to a release from the Vancouver Police Department, officers were called to the area of Princess Avenue and Hastings Street shortly before 5 a.m to an armed man acting “erratic and aggressive.”
He was apparently smashing a window to his room and throwing large wooden objects onto the street, police say.
The man had apparently chased people with the weapon in a “threatening manner” and was “subsequently shot by police.”
