Tuesday, 05 January 2021 _Toyota’s driver Nasser Al-Attiyah has won stage 2 of the Dakar Rally, while 13-time champion, Stephane Peterhansel took the overall lead.
The Qatari, who had a poor performance in the stage 1 as he finished 10th, took his advantage from the 6th waypoint and finally grabbed the 685 kilometer stage after 4 hours, 3 minutes and 14 seconds, to leave behind X-raid Mini driver Peterhansel by 2 minutes and 35 seconds and Carlos Sainz, who won stage 1 on Sunday, finished 3rd.
Meanwhile, in the general ranking, Peterhansel eclipsed his teammate Sainz to take the overall lead, while Al-Attiyah sits 3rd. Stage 3 will be held on Tuesday.
