A shooting incident has occurred at the Starrville Methodist Church in Winona.
Larry Christian with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Sunday morning that a shooting incident occurred at the Starrville Methodist Church on FM 16 in Winona.
Christian said he was in the middle of gathering information, and he did not give any details on whether there were injuries, or if a suspect is in custody.
Several East Texas News viewers reported seeing multiple Smith County Sheriff’s Office patrol units at the church Sunday morning. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the scene as well. Firefighters from the Winona Volunteer Fire Department are providing traffic control at the scene.
