Tehran, YJC. Majlis representative says the West made a big mistake to interfere with Ukraine.
Abbasali Mansouri Arani, member of the Majlis National
Security and Foreign Policy Committee, in interview with ICANA said "The West
started to open its way to the region through color revolutions a decade ago, one
of which was the Orange Revolution of Ukraine. At that time Russians were
silent as they were stabilizing their hegemony. But as things have changed,
Moscow would no longer tolerate the EU advances.”
With the fall of the orange in Ukraine, Russia took sway
over Kiev. When the West was trying to rule Ukraine with a different
revolution, Russia responded according to its military doctrine, he added.
The West has kind of failed in the Ukraine issue. They could
never imagine that Moscow’s rage would add up to so much. On the other hand the
Ukraine unrest comes with heavy cost for them which makes its loss greater than
its gain for them, Arani noted.
He added "Due to economic relations and borders with Russia,
Europeans are losing greatly which creates schism among the countries of the West,
since the US will not suffer much from the dispute.”
He further stated that the North Atlantic Treaty
Organization will not endorse Ukraine’s membership, resigning to a limited
number of military drills and some aid in arms to the country.
