After Iran performed a powerful show against the U.S. on Tuesday, the team’s Serbian coach Slobodan Kovač in a presser said "On its good days, Iran is powerful enough to beat any team.”
"Not to mention that whenever our setter passes the ball well we can be swift and do some magnificent job,” he added.
Kovač noted "We set back a little bit and the U.S. made our job a bit tougher with better serves and some good defense.”
Three weeks ago we did four matches with them and lost all. Maybe they thought they would beat Iran easily, but that did not happen, he stated. "But of course we had a few problems toward the end of the game, but we won.”
In its second match at the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championship in Poland, Iran competed with the U.S. and won the game 3 to 2.
