Tehran, YJC. The Finnish foreign minister met president Rouhani in Tehran.

The Foreign Minister of Finland Erkki Tuomioja met the Iranian president Hassan Rouhani in Tehran On Sunday.

Rouhani pointed to Iran’s nuclear program and said "Today we are ready to continue to talks to reach the final deal. If the 5+1 does not mean to pressurize Iran or thwart its scientific progress, the way to agreement can be left open.”

We will never negotiate our defense or missile capabilities, he said, adding, the time for pressurizing countries with sanctions is over.

The Iranian president asserted "Iran will not accept any sort of discrimination that goes against international rules. It demands its full use of its rights like the rest of the IAEA members.”

He stated that a lose-lose situation has been the result of the economic sanctions so far, adding "Our national interests are our red ilnes.”

Tuomioja in turn said that a new chapter is opened in cooperation between Iran and the EU.

"We are happy about the progress that is made in the nuclear talks with Iran and we will give our full support to the accomplishment of a final deal within the time specified,” he said.

Noting that his country uses 4 nuclear power plants and is building a 5th one, he said "A country which is using nuclear facilities cannot become a hindrance against other member countries using the peaceful nuclear energy.”
