Zarif meets Russian counterpart

Tehran YJC. Zarif says that Iran praises Russian stands on resolving the countryˈs nuclear dossier.

In a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Iran’s FM Mohammad Javad Zarif on Friday said exchange of visits between the two sidesˈ political officials after election of President Hassan Rouhani has increased dramatically, according to IRNA.

Relationships between Iran and Russia are promising and the two sidesˈ presidents have met twice and in the near future will meet each other, he said.

New chapter on expansion of bilateral relations is on the way which requires constant and regular talks between the two sidesˈ officials, he said.

The two sidesˈ officials held various round of talks at various diplomatic levels and the current visit is on same track, he said.

The two sides presidentsˈ have drawn up a Road Map along with long lasting relationship and we are obliged to pursue it to meet both sidesˈ interests as well as global peace, he said.

ˈWe are now confronting a common threat in the region known as extremism and the recent developments indicate that Iran and Russia common stances over the issue were quite right,ˈ he said.

Other members of the International society had a different view which was a wrong strategic approach, Zarif said.

Iran and Russia can play significant role in fighting extremism at the international level which will be to be benefit of global peace and security, he said.

Level of delegations indicates to what extent the two sidesˈ relations is deep and expanded in various sectors, he said.
