Saturday, 31 October 2020 (YJC)_ A priest has been seriously injured in a shooting in the French city of Lyon, according to a police source.
An attacker armed with a sawn-off shotgun on Saturday wounded an Orthodox priest in a shooting in the French city of Lyon before fleeing, said a police source.
The priest, who has Greek nationality, was closing his church when the attack happened and is now in a serious condition, said the source, who asked not to be named.
The orthodox priest was fired on twice at around 4pm local time as he was closing the church, the source said, and was being treated at the scene for life-threatening injuries. The assailant is believed to have fled.
