Tehran, YJC. Iranian artist blends painting and carpet weaving into amazing novel creations.

Firouz Vahabi Nejad is an Iranian artist from Tabriz.

He has had a hand in painting and calligraphy.

Firouz was made famous by his works of calligraphy where he tried to link the art with painting, arranging letters of the Persian language in ways to resemble objects.

This has been done before Firouz, but his departing point was that he worked the calligraphy into famous shapes and figures found on the Iranian carpet.

Of such works he did launch galleries which attracted quite a lot of spectators.

In his most recent works, Firouz has actually worked real carpets onto his painting canvas, blending paints and real carpet warps and weft.
