Iran’s young wrestlers beat world

Tehran, YJC. After 19 years the Iranian national youth wrestling team is standing as the world’s champion this year.

At the end of the second day of the world’s youth Greco-Roman wrestling championship, Iran won two gold and one bronze medals.

Having last gained the champion title 19 years ago, in 1995, Iran beat the Russians this year to renew its title before the intermission would surpass its teens.

In the 66-kg group first Hassan Yazdani beat his Canadian rival 10 to 0. Having also beaten his Chinese contestant 11 to 0 he then got through his Uzbek claimer 12 to 1.

In the semi-finals he beat his Russian rival 8 to 4 to meet his last contestant from the US whom he did 9 to 2.

In the 84-kg group Alireza Karimi had to take a rest in the first round. In the second he beat contestant from Ukraine 10 to 0. Then he pushed a Japanese wrestler out of the way 10 to 0 to meet another one from India whom he beat with the same points.

In the final match he welcomed his rival from Kazakhstan with a 11-2 beat-up.
