Tuesday, 11 August 2020_For the first time in 5 months, these people get a chance to dine in at restaurants. This after Pakistan lifted almost all restrictions imposed in March to control the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. The decision to reopen the economy been taken after Pakistan reported dramatic decline in covid-19 cases over the past few days. There are now now just 17000 active cases in the country.
Markets, shopping malls and other sectors of the economy have been restored to the normal timings.
The wedding halls and educational institutions will be reopened next month. The lockdown and restrictions affected many businesses and livelihood. People, who had to remain confined to their homes, also welcome the lifting of restrictions.
Contrary to the earlier forecast, Pakistan has shown remarkable success against the covid-19. The government took credit for this turnaround to its strategy.
The markets are now once again buzzing with people. What is noticeable is that despite government’s advice, people are not taking any precautions, something health experts warn can trigger the second wave of COVID-19.
