Tuesday, 04 August 2020_Leaked police body camera footage has shown the initial moments of the arrest that led to the US police killing of African-American unarmed man George Floyd.

New video footage leaked of George Floyd's police arrestThe footage published by a British news outlet on Monday shows one of the four former officers charged over Floyd's death, Thomas Lane, approaching Floyd's vehicle, knocking on the driver's side window with his flashlight, and immediately pointing his gun at the unarmed Floyd.

Right from the onset of the arrest, Floyd starts begging the police officers to spare him.

"Mr. Officer, please don't shoot me," Floyd pleads to the officers, insisting that he had done nothing wrong.

Lane and the other officer can be heard cursing repeatedly at Floyd while he is handcuffed and led to a squad car by the officers.

Outside the squad car a struggle begins between Floyd, who says he is claustrophobic, and the officers trying to force him into the vehicle.

The struggle ends with Floyd on the pavement and former Officer Derek Chauvin's knee on his neck, while Floyd continues to beg for his life telling the officers holding him down repeatedly that he cannot breathe.

An investigation has been launched to find how the police body camera footage was leaked.

Four policemen have been charged over Floyd's death.

Floyd's death sparked protests across the US and in some cities elsewhere around the world against racial discrimination and police brutality.
