Tehran, YJC. In cooperation with Gazprom, Iran has started the extraction of oil from a joint field with Iraq.

One hundred days after Chinese companies left the expansion of the Iran-Iraq joint oil field Azadegan, Iran’s drill rigs in this field have increased in number.

Right now Iraq is quadrupling Iran by daily extracting 210 thousand barrels of oil from this field.

The country has also started for the expansion of oil fields Sandbad (joint with Iran’s Yadavaran) and Badri (joint with Iran’s Azar) and a number of others.

Not only did they not act to their obligations during their 6-year stay on Azadegan, the Chinese would also cause delay in the extraction of oil from this field.

As Iran’s current Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh ordered the Chinese out, the country has experienced an increase in the number of its engaged extraction rigs in Azadegan.

The minister has said that in two stages, the number of the active extraction sites will increase to 185.

Right now Iran is getting 50 thousand barrels of oil out of Azadegan. The number will increase to 320 after the 185 sites are completed and made operational.

Besides this volume of oil, it is expected that Iran will be able to extract 197 million square feet of gas when the extraction sites are operational.
