Iran Majlis Speaker addresses Inter-parliamentary Union on Gaza

Tehran, YJC. Larijani has in a letter to IPU leaders has cautioned international legislative bodies of ongoing incidents in Gaza.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani in a letter to the head and Director General of the Inter-parliamentary Union called for global attention to the prevalent situations in Gaza.

Pointing to the recent Israeli attack on Gaza he condemned the Israeli government and called for the Inter-parliamentary Union and other international entities to work toward putting an end to the killing of Palestinian civilians.

"Surely for the situations to continue as Gaza is being unjustly seized and access to medical resources to treat the wounded and also to humanitarian aid has been blocked, there are dire consequences to follow which will amount to a human catastrophe and become a threat to regional peace,” Larijani wrote.

He added "Therefore, as the Head of the Islamic Cooperation Organization’s Inter-parliamentary Union I strongly condemn the anti-humanitarian crimes committed by the intruding Zionists, asking your excellency to implement all the power you have to stop the attacks, immediately end the seizure of Gaza, and open the way for humanitarian aid to Gaza as international regulations, especially the international human rights and war rights are being widely disregarded by the Zionist, while on one side there is a lack of any effective measure by international organizations to stop such savage attack.”
