Tehran, YJC. It has been said that Iran is going to launch an energy-specific science park.
Deputy-director of Planning and Technology Office of
Ministry of Science and Technology says the ministry will establish Energy
Technology Park, according to Mehr news agency.
Mohammad Sadeq Khayyatian said the ministry would work with
Ministry of Energy to establish the first Energy Technology Park ever in the
country.
He added that ‘specialized’ parks would facilitate the
industry-university connections. "Development of such Parks would help expand
spin-off activities and commercialization of the academic achievements in the
market,” he added.
Commenting on the research needs, Khayatan said that the 5th
Development Plan requires the private sector to communicate research needs to
universities so that "universities would coordinate research projects in line
with these needs, with sharing of expenses by both sides.”
