Tehran, YJC. President Rouhani and the Emir of Qatar in phone conversation called for action against terrorism.
Qatar’s Emir congratulated President Rouhani over the
telephone on the occasion of the month of Ramadan on Sunday.
Stressing his country’s likewise concern to help resolve
regional crises, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stated "We condemn terrorism and homicide.
We must join hands to eradicate terrorism and homicide under any name.”
"We all have to help each other in fighting terrorism,
because the current crisis is very dire and it will hurt everyone if it goes
on,” he asserted.
Al-Thani further added "They are enemies of the Islamic nation
who are benefited by such crises. So it is necessary that we work in
cooperation and join hands in preventing the spread of regional intrigue. That is
a burden on our, the politicians’, shoulders.”
Hassan Rouhani in turn congratulated the Qatari Emir on
Ramadan and then pointed to regional affairs, stating "Extremism and terrorism
have turned into a plague to the entire regional countries. For the Muslim to
get rid of it, they all must join hands and work in cooperation.”
"Regional countries have to help peace and stability through
talks, brotherhood, and friendship,” he added.
The President also stated that regional terrorism is only in
the interest of Zionist and other enemies of Islam and said "We are ready to
join hands with all our brother countries in the region to cope with
instability and insecurity and to try to regain regional peace.”
A couple of days earlier Rouhani had addressed Islamic leaders
to call this year’s Ramadan the month of peace and compassion "when we unite as
Muslims to take steps towards a World Against Violence and Extremism.”
