Tehran, YJC. National Claims Commission says Iran will reimburse UK on its embassy only if UK makes up for damages it has so far done to the country.

Head of the National Claims Commission of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis of the Islamic Republic of Iran in reaction to recent UK claim for damage to its embassy said "In that case if the Islamic Republic is going to reimburse the UK; besides the fact that we all saw the attack on the Iranian embassy in London, during the first and second World Wars there were also big human and material damages done to our country. So if a make-up is demanded, the UK government will as well have to reimburse Iran for the World War damages as well as those of the Iranian embassy in London.”

Mahdi Davatgari stated "Direct and indirect intervention by the UK in our domestic affairs, both before and after the revolution, are undeniable and hidden to no one. Without a doubt, the UK has to be responsible for the crime it has done to our country in the past century.”
