S Korea promotes inter-Korean peace and unificationTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club(YJC)-It’s one of the DMZ hotspots the South has developed to advance peace and reunification between the two Koreas. Another location is Hwacheon nearby Peace Dam which draws many local visitors with its ‘Door to Unification’ mural.

The mural expresses the yearnings for unification and shows North Korean scenery seen through an open traditional Korean castle gate. The Guinness World Records says the mural is the largest anamorphic painting in the world.

Analysts say having many tourists particularly from China all year round at sites near the border like the Peace Dam with its surrounding peace parks and the Seven Star Observatory helps deter possible escalation between the two countries.
