Tehran, YJC. Supreme Leader has strongly rejected US intervention in Iraq.
Iran’s Supreme Leader in meeting with a number of the
Judiciary officials on Sunday addressed recent developments in Iraq.
"Behind the curtain in Iraq’s
sedition there are Western monopolizing powers headed by the US. The Islamic
Republic of Iran strongly disapproves of any sort of intervention by the US in
Iraq’s domestic affairs, believing the people and the religious reference of the
country to be able to end the dustup.”
Providing remarks on statements by US officials Ayatollah
Khamenei asserted "What has happened in Iraq is no war between the Shiite and
Sunni. It is rather the domineering system which is trying to disturb the
country’s peace and to threaten its territorial integrity through the remnants
of the Saddam regime as key figures and Takfiri members as troopers.”
"The real agents of sedition in Iraq are as much enemies
with the devout Sunni who believe in an independent Iraq as they are with the
Shiite,” he further stated.
The Supreme Leader pointed out "In Iraq the original fight
goes on between those who want Iraq to join the US camp and those who want Iraq
independent.”
